Operating under the registered trade name Worldline Financial Services, equensWorldline NV is fully dedicated to providing efficient, reliable and innovative payment services to the Dutch market. This includes our regulated settlement services which we also provide to clients outside of the Netherlands. We are a subsidiary of equensWorldline SE and part of Worldline, the European leader in payments and transactional services and #4 largest player worldwide. Building on long-term experience in the payments business and leveraging the skills and capabilities of the entire group, we are optimally geared to support our clients and help them make the most of the opportunities in this challenging market.
We have a license from DNB/AFM for the provision of the regulated settlement services (i.e. Switch (incl. POS Acquiring host), Stand-in and CSM/Instant Payments CSM).

Based on our role as critical infrastructure, equensWorldline NV is supervised by national and European oversight authorities. We have a license as settlement institution and are supervised by both the Dutch National Bank (DNB) and the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) in accordance with the Act on Financial Supervision (Wft). Our CSM is also under oversight by the Eurosystem, which comprises the European Central Bank and the national central banks of the Member States whose currency is the euro. The supervision is performed by the Dutch National Bank on behalf of the Eurosystem.
Our clients and their customers need to be able to rely on us and our services at all times. That's why we ensure compliance with all applicable laws, industry standards, rules and regulations. In addition, we focus on operational excellence and ensure controlled operations. For this purpose we operate according to the 'Three lines of defense' model.Read more
In order to use our Clearing and Settlement Mechanism (CSM), parties have to meet and adhere to our participant admission criteria.Download our criteria (PDF)
When not adhering to these criteria, we will suspend or exclude the participant from using the CSM.
The rules on the remuneration policy for financial undertakings as laid down in the Dutch Financial Supervision Act focuse on management of the risks inherent in (variable) remuneration and apply to equensWorldline as a settlement institution (“afwikkelonderneming”).Read more (PDF)
